DSL, SWAN, and SSWAT are now available from home

NEOnet recently purchased a Secure Socket Layer (SSL) certificate from Versign. This certificate is the same type used by web sites doing online credit card transactions.

This SSL certificate allows NEOnet to:

  • Secure the data being sent from DSL, SWAN, and SSWAT
  • Provide an encrypted channel to external and internal users
  • Help ensure student confidentiality

The encrypted channel to the external user allows the data to be scrambled so that anyone on the internet who intercepts the traffic will be unable to view its contents. This was an important step towards allowing access to DSL, SWAN, and SSWAT from outside the NEOnet network.

Please contact Matthew Gdovin at gdovin@neonetda.org or 330-926-3900 ext 1100 for more information on how DSL, SWAN, and SSWAT can save your district time and money.
