October SAMS Meeting

The next SAMS (Summit Area Media Specialists) Meeting will be held on October 4, 2005 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon in Room 17/19 of the Summit County Educational Service Center.

SAMS Meeting October 4th:

At this time we will have a 40 minute presentation by Andrew Dzurisin from Thomson/Gale Databases. He will show us the Academic product offerings that NEOnet would like to offer our schools. This would be followed by a short question-answer-information presentation by Matt Gdovin, NEOnet Director. Matt would like to gauge interest of our member libraries for these Gale Thomson database products and explain participation pricing.

9:45 am

At 9:45 am, Cynthia Duchane, Project Coordinator for INFOhio, will do an INFOhio Fall Update for us. This update will last two hours and you will need to register online for this event. The online registration can be found at: http://events.infohio.org/fullpgdynamic.asp

Overview

Each of the regional fall update sessions planned for the start of the 2005-2006 school year focuses on INFOhio's Core Collection of Electronic Resources, 15 resources free to all PreK-12 students and teachers in Ohio. Attendees will learn how to get the best use of the special features for each resource, and presenters will suggest several curricular applications. In addition, brief updates on other INFOhio products and services will be provided.
