SIRSI Tip Sheets

These documents are designed to supplement the INFOhio Sirsi Handbook.
All instructions are Microsoft Word documents.
If you have difficulty with the Word documents, contact the Library Services Staff.

• To downloand and install WorkFlows. Instructions and the necessary software are available on the INFOhio website.

• Do you have a large number of books to weed? Use the 'Global Edit' feature to change the location of items by scanning them into WorkFlows. When done, create a report for your records, then contact NEONET to have the entire list of items deleted.

Reports:

• Learn how to create a report based on the text located in an item note field

• NEW WorkFlows Reports for making labels. There are three new reports available, they are located on the INFOhio Tab. The reports are:
  
  
• LBL: Dumb Labels - use for creating new dumb item barcodes and dumb patron barcodes
  
  

• LBL: Item Labels - use for creating smart barcodes and item spine labels
  

• LBL: User Labels - use for creating barcodes for users already in the system
  

• Did you know, that you can create a list of items by subject using the WorkFlows report feature?

Inventory:

• During inventory, the “Step 5) Missing Copies List” report creates a list of items that have not been inventoried and cannot be located. The next steps in the inventory process will delete all items found in the “Step 5) Missing Copies List.”

• Printing Student Barcodes
  Report from INFOhio has made it easier to print student barcodes.
  One option is the ability to print all barcodes for all the students in your building at one time with each homeroom starting on a new page.
